I took a printmaking class where we made a print from carving a wood block. One was of a tree. It’s neat you can get a similar effect from drawing.

That’s awesome! Did you like it? I’ve taken a few woodworking classes and they were so much fun.

Yeah, I enjoyed the woodcutting and the etching by hand of a fish. The etching with acid didn’t turn out as well. Printmaking does allow one to interact a lot with the medium. Carving out the wood adds a new dimension to the experience.

Yea, print media is one of my favs. I like it more than woodcutting, but the results of both are pretty cool.
I love painting them! I took the summer off from painting because trying to appease the demands of a job and trying to paint was to stressful but now that summer of almost over and things will soon be settling back down I am hoping to paint some fall inspired trees and stuff!!!!

That sounds fantastic! I’m excited to see your new stuff. I can understand why you’re not painting right now. It is stressful to paint regular and hold something full time. Sketching is a bit easier because there’s very little clean up involved (if any) and you can carry a sketchbook wherever.

I have never thought of it that way. I guess I’ve never tried because I can manipulate a paint brush and use it to do so much more that what you can manipulate a pen to do.

That is true. You could always sketch your ideas for painting while you’re out and about and then review and paint them when you have time. I do that sometimes.

I will def. give that some serious consideration. thanks!
I see a woman running from left to right 🙂
Haha so that emotion came out pretty well then 😉
Emotion or obsession? lol
Uhh both, haha!
Nice! It reminds me of a woodcutting.
Yeah, I can see where you get that idea. All of the harsh lines really make it seem like wood.

Love this!
Thank you! The subject goes so well with the crosshatching style.

Thank you very much! Trees are one of my favorite things to draw.
