Happy fall! I’m not quite ready to let go of heat and sunshine, but I do looooove fall! I can’t wait to see the leaves changing and fall crafts are my favorite.
First up on the fall crafts list are these cute scrapbook paper pumpkins. I used to make these little 3D pumpkins, as you might have, in elementary school, but when you make them with scrapbook paper, it makes a world of difference. Construction paper doesn’t do it justice. Read the whole post
I’ve been writing this craft blog for 10 years and I’ve loved it! Writing is only half the fun though. Coming up with new and exciting craft projects to share and creating new things is even more enjoyable. That’s why I wanted to share this post with all of my favorite crafts from the last decade! I hope it inspires you make new things and maybe even spend time with friends while you do it.
Unfortunately, I think we can all agree that Christmas 2020 will be different. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t be with family or friends in some form or another. I’ve prepared some Christmas gift ideas to help you show your love and support! If you can’t share it in person, you can always mail it and unbox in a video chat.
Keep in mind that small businesses are suffering right now, so buying small or local is always helpful and very much appreciated. Read the whole post
I love making dashboards for my planner! You can buy them, but designing your own is way more fun. To make one, all you need is a tissue box, glue and some scrapbook paper.
For those of you who are unfamiliar, a planner dashboard is used as a divider that is typically made of plastic or cardboard. Some people use them to store post-its, some are used as a storage folder (which I’ve also DIYed if you’re interested), others use them as a place to keep their checklists. Read the whole post
Every year, there are a handful of people that tell me they want gift cards for Christmas. I love that because it ensures they get something they’ll use.
The problem, for me, is that it’s too easy and I feel like I don’t put enough effort into it. These are people I love! I want to put some thought into their presents. So, I like to make my own gift card holders.
This year, there were quite a few people that wanted gift cards, so I got to work on those way more adorable envelopes. Read the whole post
How many women (or men) do you know that wear rings? Most women I know have a few and just throw them into a dish, so a ring box is a great option for holiday gift-giving!
Homemade gifts are the best ones, especially for Christmas. People have told me that their DIYs often look cheap so they don’t want to give them as presents for the holidays. This often happens if you choose something that’s difficult to make or you don’t have much experience crafting, so I’m here to help you gift one that is easy to make and will look great! Decorating your home around Christmas can get expensive. In fact, the average American spends $61 on holiday Decor. If you think about it, you buy a tree, tinsel, ornaments, wreaths, wall decor and even doormats. It all adds up.
But, you don’t have to buy your festive decorations from a store. You can make your own! (C’mon, you knew I was going to say that.) Use your crafting skills and plan time with friends and family and make decorations that everyone will enjoy. Read the whole post
If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you know that I love candles. It’s actually surprising to me how many candle related crafts I’ve made, from the actual candle to holders, and now luminaries.
Fall and Halloween are known for their candle crafts. There’s something… I don’t know, mysterious, or maybe eerie, about candles during this season, so luminaries are the perfect addition to your decor.
Did you know that consumers prefer physical gift cards? I always thought that was strange for our instant gratification digital age. According to the National Gift Card Annual B2B Gift Card Report, of the volume in gift card program redemptions is still in physical cards versus 25% for egift cards.
So, when you’re looking for a gift idea, remember that gift cards are always an option. What I like about gifting them is that I can customize the envelope however I want. Read the whole post
I love to read and I do it frequently. You can only imagine how many bookmarks I have gone through in my life. The paper ones tear, the metal ones discolor the pages, the wooden ones break… I had to come up with a better idea because these are just not working out for me. So, I’ve seen people make magnets using this same technique and I decided I could use it to make bookmarks. It is super easy and only takes a few minutes (excluding the time you are waiting for the glue to dry.) Read the whole post
