I must be on an illustration kick this week because that is what seems to be amusing me. Hopefully you enjoy these because I think Mathew Woodson is a fantastic artist!
Matthew Woodson studied at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago with a focus in natural history illustration. He graduated in 2006 and began working as a freelance illustrator. Matthew has worked with clients like Dazed & Confused, ESPN, New York Magazine, and Puma. Because his first attempts as a freelance artist were so successful, Woodson decided to stick with it. He still lives and works in the wonderful city of Chicago.

“Body Scripture II” is Ronit Bigal’s new exhibition at the Artists House. It is a combination of Photography, Calligraphy and floral ornamentation. Ronit uses digital photography topped with drawings in black Indian ink which produces a base-relief effect.
Bigal starts by photographing a completely exposed body and explores different areas of it with her lens. She wraps parts of her photos with floral ornamentation and others with cited calligraphy taken from Biblical texts. They are abstract and mysterious. This approach arouses the viewer’s curiosity to discover what the photographed parts are and what the text really means. This artist is a genius!

I’m feeling some photo manipulation today… This is an art in itself. These are Photoshop experts expressing themselves.
