Stephen Wiltshire is a fantastic artist that deserves a lot of recognition. After a 20 minute helicopter ride above New York City Stephen was able to draw the entire skyline. That is impressive. So, I continued to research him a bit…
Stephen was born in London with and was diagnosed with autism. This left him mute until he was five years old. Because he was unable to communicate verbally he used other outlets such as drawing or music. Stephen seemed to enjoy drawing buildings best. Today, he is a landscape artist who is most famous for his pen drawings of cityscapes of New York, Tokyo, and Rome. These drawings were only created from memory.
