I apologize for my lateness! With Christmas being tomorrow I was very caught up in family 🙂 here is my Make Something Mondays a little late. Happy Holidays!
This is gift #4 in the Make Something Mondays holiday gift series!
My best friend got married last month so, for Christmas I am going to give her these photo coasters made with a few of her wedding photos. I picked out 4 gorgeous pictures, sized them to 4×4 inches, and cut them out. Then I went to Lowe’s and found 4 white wall tiles.
This is the type of project that you have to work on while you are doing something else. Cleaning the house would be perfect. There is a lot of waiting in this one. Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area or you might get a little loopy!
Things You Will Need:
Tiles
Photos
Felt pads
Mod Podge
Sponge Brush
Sealant (not pictured)
Put a thin, even layer of mod podge over the top of the tile.
Quickly apply the precut photo of your choice. Use your fingers to smooth the photo over the glue. Make sure you press down on the edges. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the remaining tiles and images.
Let it dry for about 5-10 mins. Go do the dishes or something.
*if it isn’t dry before you move on to step 3 then you will get some serious bubbles in the photo.
Apply another thin, even layer of Mod Podge over the top of the photo. Repeat this step for the remaining tiles. Let it dry for about 5-10 mins.
*repeat this step 2-3 times.
Step 4:
When your tiles are dry line them up (like the photo) on some newspaper in a well ventilated area. Spray your sealant as evenly as possible on the coasters and make sure to get all of the edges. Let the coasters sit for about 10 minutes to dry completely.
Step 5:
Adhere your felt pads to the bottom of the coaster to protect any surface this will soon be placed on.
When you are done you will have some lovely photo coasters! People love these things, seriously.
