I felt festive today, so I made a fall-inspired wreath. It doesn’t take long to make (maybe half an hour) and it is nice home decor. The pinecones are cinnamon-scented too, so it makes my house smell amazing 🙂
I don’t know how much the average seasonal wreath would typically cost, but I made this one for less than $20. It is probably about $16 altogether.

Fall Wreath Supplies
Wreath Form*
Scissors
Fall Ribbon
Hot-melt glue & gun
Fall floral plant
Brown Felt (optional)
Cinnamon-scented pinecones
*I’ve seen people use a pool noodle in place of the styrofoam circle. You can give that a shot. I’ve never tried it though, so I’m not going to tell you it will work. If you try it, let me know how it goes.
You can also find the scented pinecones and floral plants at your local craft store. Around this time of year, they should be stocked up. You will smell them as soon as you walk in the door.
Step 1: Glue the ribbon to the wreath
Fold the edge of the ribbon over and glue it to the styrofoam wreath.
Step 2: Wrap the ribbon around the wreath
Begin to wrap the ribbon around the wreath form. I bought 10 ft. (3 m.) worth of ribbon and just barely had enough. Make sure you are wrapping the ribbon directly over top of where the last piece of ribbon ended.
Step 3: Glue the felt around the bottom of the wreath
If you choose to use felt, here is where you want to wrap a small piece around your wreath. Ensure the beginning and end of the felt meet at the back of the wreath. You don’t want people to see that part.
We’ll use this as a base for our scented pinecones so people don’t see the ribbon through them.
Step 4: Glue your pinecones to the wreath
Here’s the fun part. Begin to glue your fall-scented pinecones to the wreath. Find a good layout and get to work 🙂
I chose a slightly off-centered position for mine to add extra interest.
Lastly, tie another ribbon around the wreath for hanging.
This wreath turned out beautifully!

Happy crafting!

So beautiful …. love the colors you have used in the ribbons.
Thank you, Viveka! I’m glad you enjoy it. Hope you are doing well. I’ve been thinking about you.
Doing very well … my “sorry ass” decided to stay at home when I went to NYC and I haven’t had any pain since then. Just disappeared like that … The doctors are not any wiser neither. Thanks for your thoughtfulness. So happy I can go back to blogging again.
Reblogged this on Oyia Brown.
So cute a great idea!
Thank you very much! I’m glad you like it 🙂
Very pretty.
Thank you 🙂
looks very nice!
Thank you!
I love this. I will be doing a Fall wreath tutorial using moss today. Going to do it as a video for my YouTube channel. Great job!
Ohh that sounds awesome. Would you mind sending me a link to the tutorial when you are finished? I would love to see it!

While I’ll admit I’m not a wreath person (in general, not just holiday time), I do like this one. The ribbon color is fall, but has other color and shimmer, and I like the pinecones and whatever the other decoration is.
Yeah, I agree. I am not a wreath person either. That is why, when I hang them, I always make them myself. You should give it a shot.
Well, with you inspiration…it may become a reality 🙂
That’s nice to hear 🙂 thanks!
I actually saw a photo on Pinterest for making a wreath out of toilet paper rolls. I thought of painting the rims for a dash of color, but who doesn’t have TP rolls in their house? 😛
That is neat! I’ve cut them up before to make a wreath, but never used the whole thing. That would be interesting!
Check this out! I found it on Pinterest…

That is super cute!!! Are you going to make it?
I’m thinking I might. I’m going to cut all the tubes in half, that way it’s not too thick. Then I’m going to paint the front edge a nice teal, good for all occasions.
Oh that’s exciting! Take pictures; I want to see it!
It is so weird that you commented on this post today because I was just thinking about replacing this wreath on my door with a new spring wreath.
