About

Welcome to Make Something Mondays!

It is nice to meet you. My name is Megan and I am a graphic designer. Actually, I consider myself a creative; graphic designer is just my career title but I am so much more than that. I started drawing when I was very young and that developed into a habit. Yes, drawing is a habit just like biting your nails or twirling your hair. Drawing was where it started but it slowly progressed into painting, printmaking, 3D and digital design. Before I knew it I was graduating from college with a degree in fine arts.

All my life people have said “Oh, you are so talented; I wish I could do what you do”. Well, I am going to show you how. I will give you a step by step tutorial for everything I make so you will be an artist before you know it. I called my blog Make Something Mondays because I hate Mondays. If I make something I enjoy every Monday then maybe I will think more highly of the day. Hopefully your Mondays will become just a bit brighter as well. 🙂

  1. The title of your blog reminds me of a friend of mine. She does something she calls “Making Mondays” where she invites as many creative people over to her house as she can, and we all get together and work on our various projects. Recently we’ve been doing it on Fridays because everyone has been busy on Mondays (*sad*), but it’s still the same idea. Lots of fun and it gets everyone motivated!

  2. The Mamas and Papas had a great song about Mondays. Mondays are a state of mind and I think it’s fabulous that you have dedicated effort to make something good out of a usually maligned day of the week.

  3. You are becoming an award magnet and deservedly so. I enjoy your diverse and lively content and so I pass on the ABC award–Awesome Blog Content Award. I don’t know what the protocol and procedure is on receiving such an award, but now that you’ve received it you can pass on the history (and honor) as you have your others. Have you thought about posting your award “brags” in your sidebar? Eh, if you’ve got it flaunt it.

  5. Hello. I noticed that your gravatar links it to makesomethingmonday.wordpress.com, which is not working, rather than your actual blog url, which is makesomethingmondays.wordpress.com.

Hope this tip helps and more power to your blog.

  9. I love your blog and I wanted to do something to really show my appreciation for all your beautiful posts so, I’m giving you this award … the Liebster Award. If you’d like to honor other bloggers with this award, you can see how to do that in the post at my blog. If you’d like to simply receive the award and enjoy the honor, that’s fine too. Just know that I think you’ve got a great blog and I thought all my followers should know it too. Have a great night! 😀

  10. Hi Megan. Thank you for following Bluefish Way, I will add another one to your impressive tally of followers. I would like to look around your blog if I may. Ralph x

  11. Megan, I have really enjoyed getting your blog the last six months or so since I began following you. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and really look forward to what you have in store for the new year. Some day if you are interested I would love to share my art with you. I am sure you get that a lot so I won’t push it 🙂

  12. Greetings from Australia Megan
Graphic design is a great profession to be in; I chose to study photography because it allowed me to travel and photograph that which I loved and experienced. There is a great course here in my native city which I’d have loved to have participated in on a part time basis had it been offered as such. I was most impressed by the calibre of the work, and so much creative potential. All the best on your journey through life.
    God bless

    • Thank you. Graphic design is pretty enjoyable. It opens up a lot of opportunities for me and I very much enjoy the creative aspect. I really feel like I go crazy when I’m not creating anything. So, it was a perfect field for me.

Photography is also very enjoyable. One of my closest friends is a photographer and an awesome one at that. I’m glad you found something you enjoy! I will be checking out your blog. I bet you have some great stuff on there. 🙂 Thanks for checking out my site!

  14. Hi Megan, thank you so much for the follow, it really is so appreciative and I glad you like my site. Unfortunately I studied Maths / Business, good at computers, worked in finance for over 20 years….. The good news is that it must be time for all that pent up creativity to come bursting out – well to be truthful a number of people have been saying I should share more of my photos, but I hope the blog can bring more than just a few pics. Just been looking more at the street art post and have to say this is one of the best posts ever. Fantastic. No really. Reasons to follow (and by the way I don’t just give a follow if someone happens to follow me!).

Have a great week. MM 🍀

    • Hello! Thank you for following! I appreciate it as well, sincerely. Being in the business and tech industry is not a bad thing. Believe it or not, you probably DO have a lot of creative build up. I’m excited to see what you produce!

      Thanks again!

  15. Just wanted to say thanks for coming over and liking my post ‘Billowing Kites, really appreciated and hope you will be back for more. Just been to look at Leonid the artist and it is a great post. will look at more, MM

  16. Hello Megan!
Thank you for following my blog. I know how many interesting blogs are out there and feel honored that you picked mine to follow. I hope my stories entertain and inform and my photos bring you joy and wonderment.
I travel mostly local but try to always find interesting places. I have lived in several different places and dig through my archives of photos to bring glimpses into places I have been. Sometimes I post a recipe because food tells a lot about culture.
I am not a professional photographer, so my photos are sometimes a little fuzzy and there are telephone poles and wires and other things along with what I was photographing. The older photos are 35mm, the newer are point and shoot digital and a few are Samsung Smartphone.
I am new to blogging so if you have any advice or critique please drop me a comment.
Thank you again for following and to quote Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” – Mark Twain
