Tea is such a good gift. You can share it any time: when someone is sick, for special occasions, for fun… Whenever really. But it’s no fun to just give people a box of tea. It’s much more exciting to gift in unique packaging.
This tea bag holder is wonderful and makes gifting just a few teabags more personal.
You only need a few supplies and you might have them in your craft box already.
Paper tea bag holder supplies
- scissors
- ribbon
- hole punch
- scrapbook paper
- ruler (optional)
Step 1: cut a scrapbook paper square
Cut a square in your scrapbook paper.
Step 2: fold the points inward
Turn the paper so one of the points is facing upward.
Place the teabag at the top for measurement and fold the points on the right and left inward like in the image above.
Step 3: fold the teabag holder to stand on its own
Create an A shape in the center of the paper. This will help the tea bag holder to stand on its own.
Start by folding the points at the top and bottom together so the inside of the holder is facing outward.
Then, fold them inward about an inch from the center folder on both sides to create the shape above.
Step 4: tie the teabag holder shut
Punch a hole in the top of the teabag holder, push a ribbon through and tie it closed.
You’re ready to gift your tea! You’ll be able to fit a few teabags in the newly created holder. Perfect for a quick, thoughtful gift.
Happy crafting!

Really love this idea.
Thanks! It’s an easy one. All you really need is scrapbook paper 👏
So simple but so cute, great way to present tea to someone, love it!
Thanks so much! I hate the general tea boxes.
