Fall is here! Kind of. Either way, I am in the mood for chai tea, pumpkin pie, and apple cinnamon candles. If you know me, you know that I typically have at least one candle burning. So, I thought I would combine my love of candles and the urge to dive head first into fall and create some DIY cinnamon candle decor. Supposedly, when the candle glass around the candle heats up, the smell of cinnamon permeates the room. I’ve seen this done before, and I’ve wanted to try it for a long time. Today seemed like a good day 🙂 I’ve seen this done before, and I’ve wanted to try it for a long time.
Things You Will Need:
Vanilla-scented candle
Hot-melt glue
Cinnamon
String
Step 1:
Run a line of hot-melt glue to your cinnamon stick.
Step 2:
Glue the cinnamon to the candle. I left the label exposed so that people can see which candle I used.
Step 3:
You would think that this step is optional, but when you burn the candle, it will heat up the glue on the cinnamon sticks and they will fall off. So, get some string and tie it around the candle.
There you have it, a vanilla cinnamon candle to spice up your fall decor! Lovely!
Where did you get your cinnamon sticks? I was looking at Walmart today and could only find the small jars in the spice area (about 6 sticks/$5!)
I think I got mine at Trader Joe’s. It is kind of like an Aldi, but has better food. Unfortunately they are expensive if you buy them in stores.
However, if you buy them in bulk online they are cheaper. Check amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=stick+cinnamon&tag=googhydr-20&index=aps&hvadid=11928335875&hvpos=1o2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=11696063552131326045&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_7hegvq084u_b
