You probably know a lot of people who like coffee, right? I sure do. So, for Christmas this year I am gifting some coffee in a cute customized jar that I just finished making. It makes a nice gift for anyone, not just the coffee snobs. You could do this with tea also!
As with many of my crafts, this one is quick and easy. If you have less than a day to get a gift together, this might be your life saver.
Coffee Jar Materials
- Jar
- Sponge brush
- Painters tape**
- Adhesive stencils
- Satin acrylic paint
** = optional
The painters tape isn’t necessary, but I like to use to ensure a straight line. You could use any other kind of tape or rubber bands as an alternative.
Step 1 (optional)
Align your tape evenly so that your stencils will adhere the jar in a straight line.
Step 2
Adhere the stencils.
Tip: If you have the Martha Stewart brand stencils that I used, I would suggest overlapping them a bit. When I was finished, I felt as if my letters were spaced too far apart.
Step 3
Paint the letters and design (if applicable).
Let the paint sit for a few minutes, but be sure to remove the stencils before the paint dries.
NOTE: You can either cure the paint by letting it air dry for 21 days or you can bake it for 30 minutes (according to the Craftsmart brand directions). Your brand might be different, though, so make sure you read it.
When you’re finished, you’ll have a very cute customized coffee jar to give as a gift or keep for yourself! If you are giving it as a gift, it might be nice to provide a recipe card for different coffee drinks you can make. I’ll just direct you to Pinterest for some of the yummy coffee recipes I found earlier.
Thanks for reading and happy crafting!

What a cute idea! These two gifts would go very well together.
Great idea! 🙂
Thank you 🙂 coffee is always a good gift.
Yes, it is. I suppose, one can put tea bags in there, too. I’m more of a tea person. But this isn’t about me. It’s about giving to others. I know others who’d love this. 🙂
Or could be about you too! You could always make one for someone else and make one for you! You could put loose leaf tea in there too. It would look just a pretty 😄
This is such a great idea! Definitely going to try this as a last minute Christmas gift!
Wonderful! So glad you like it. I know so many people who would appreciate that.
