My coworker decided to go on vacation this weekend so, he left work Wednesday afternoon. Another coworker and I decided to make a small replica of his family and put it on his desk for when he came back. I took him and his wife and my coworker took the two children. I will take a picture of the whole “family” on his desk tomorrow so you can see how the kids turned out also. This will be a step by step to show you how to make your own. These make some cute gifts because people are always amused by them. You can pick them up at almost any craft store for about $3 a piece. Enjoy!

Things You Will Need:
Water
Brushes
Blanks
Newspaper
Acrylic Paint
Picture of your victim(s)

Step 1:

Pop of the head and paint both pieces the same color (I chose peach). I recommend you paint 3 or more layers on just to make sure it is even.

Step 2:

Once the “skin” is dry go ahead and start on the hair. This one will take a while to dry because you will want to use a lot of paint to get the strokes that resemble hair. Once you finish with these, set them off to the side.

Step 3:

Pick a color that the person you’re replicating wears frequently and paint on some shirts. I’ve never seen my coworker’s wife in person so I’m guessing here. I saw a picture of her wearing a red or pink shirt so I am going to go with pink. And my coworker always wears a blue Polo.

Step 4:

When the shirt dries you can add some details and touch up anything that may need it. Make sure you add faces to the heads. They will look pretty funny without them…

And Voila! You have a recreation of your people! Aren’t they just the cutest? Don’t ask me why they aren’t wearing pants. I’m not 100% positive why I decided to just go with the shirts but I was shooting for a cartoony look and if you think about it, most old school cartoon characters only wear shirts. It is appropriate.
