Peace and Harmony,
Sallyjane
That mean a lot! Thank you very much!
I couldn’t find a WordPress like button so here is the LIKE -O- . Your Audry is well done ,and you have a nice selection of subjects, so I will forgive “Bieber the Ubiqitous” being in among them. 🙂
I appreciate that lol. I’ve gotten a lot of comments about having drawn Bieber but I’ll tell you two secrets… I’ve actually drawn him twice :-0 but both drawing were requested by other people.
I’m glad you enjoy my work. That makes me happy. Thank you!
These are great! Are the prints silkscreen or lino block or other? The pencil drawings are beautiful, and there s’ something I like a lot about the B&W guitar player.
Thank you very much. The prints are a variety of mediums from linoleum to silk screen. I was experimenting with everything I could get u hands on at that point. I thank you very much for your kind comments!
megan i love your art work
Aww, thanks Rosi! 🙂 you are too nice!
Nice paintings, very inspiring blog!
Thank you!
cool, I have to learn from you.
haha, thanks. Honestly, people say that can’t draw or paint or whatever but it just takes practice. I taught myself how to draw with a few mentors along the way. Have some confidence in yourself and it will come. You can do it 🙂
You’re so talented. I always wish I could draw, but I can’t.
These are amazing.
Thank you. I think anyone can draw if they want to. All it takes is practice. 🙂
Great stuff! I particularly like “Soldier Girl”
This work is great, I love it all. I’m an artist too and this makes me what to post some of my art on my own blog. I think I will!
I hope you do! I would love to see it. <3
Come check it out 🙂
wow…these are amazing..you are talented…
Thank you! I appreciate it. 🙂
I really like your pencil work! Great job!
Really like the realistic drawings, they seen to have a certain warmth, feeling in them.
Thank you. I always try to make them relatable. I hate looking at a drawing and only seeing graphite or charcoal on the paper. There has to be a deeper element.
You have a great collection. Keep up good work.
Thank you very much! I will do that.
Nice portraits, I sketch as well (charcoal, pencil, pen and ink) print…is not my friend lol….I need to scan in some of my stuff eventually!
Thank you. I would love to see some of your work!
I really like the seventh one down–the black and white woman’s face. The contrast is beautiful and the extra touches really add a nice dimension to it. Great work! You make me miss doing art myself. Mostly all I have time for is semi-utilitarian art these days like sewing.
Hello Megan,
I love your portrait work, they are very smooth and you capture the features and personality of every person perfectly. 🙂 Have you been creating portraits for a long time? I love portrait work, but often I find it difficult to achieve the desired effect. Do you have any useful tips of suggestions for me? I have some samples of my portraits on my website at http://www.canidaeart.com, do you think you could give me some advice on how to improve my portrait work?
Keep up the great work 🙂
Thank you very much, I appreciate that. I have been drawing portraits for a long time. It is how I learned to draw. I would rip advertisements out of magazines and draw the people in them until I got it right. It took a while but it was my escape so I didn’t mind it.
I looked at your painting and I really like them. I very much enjoy your reproduction of Monet’s Bridge. I love his painting. The best advice I can give you is the advice my art teach in high school gave me. “Draw what you see, not what you know”. When you start drawing you are looking at the picture but as you continue your eyes wonder away because you think you know what it looks like. Keep your eyes on your subject. constantly look back and forth between your lines and your subject and you can’t go wrong.
I really don’t think you needed the advice though. I think your paintigs are awesome! You’ve done a great job 🙂
i especially love the seventh one from the top . 😀
Megan — I LOVE those last two and the trees and the portraits. These are great!
Amazing work! So detailed and warm
Thank you very much 🙂 I do my best!
I love your blog – I’m so glad I came across it! I love your sketches, and I love your use of colour in your paintings. I shall be following your blog from now on! Best wishes, Helen
Thank you! I appreciate it :-).
These are very nice. What is the light bulb drawn with? Is that like a pencil. It looks 3-D. 🙂
It’s just an HB pencil

do you find etsy to be an effective place to sell your art ?
I wish I could answer that question to the extent that I think you are looking for.I don’t put much effort into my Etsy shop to be honest with you. I kind of started it to see what what happen and I don’t have a lot of time for it. I would rather put that effort into my blog. So personally, I can’t really answer that.
However, for the people that try to sell artwork on Etsy, yes, I do think it is effective. If you know how to market your work and optimize your content, Etsy is a great venue for selling art. I buy a lot of work from Etsy, partially because I like to support other artists (which is typically other artists’ mentality as well) but also because I enjoy the work on the site more than I like the work available it galleries and stores. You can’t beat the customization and brilliance that goes into the artwork on Etsy!
Does that help?
thanks — my daughter is at art school. Just trying to understand the options.
she posts some things here: http://dontwaittonight.wordpress.com/
thanks for the input – I appreciate it.
