It occurred to me today that I have never used food as a Make Something Mondays project. Food making is an art so why haven’t I done this? I decided to make some rice krispies treats and got bored with it. So… here are my DIY Butterfinger Rice Krispies treats. If you like sweet i promise you will like these.
Things You Will Need:
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used organic)
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 bag (10 oz) marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
6 fun size Butterfingers, crushed
Step 1:
Melt butter in a pot on medium heat.
Step 2:
add in marshmallows. Wait until fully melted
Step 3:
Take off of the stove, add the peanut butter and mix well.
Transfer the rice krispies to a 9×13 baking pan.
Step 4:
Melt the chocolate. If you have never done this before take note, because you don’t want to burn it.
Boil water in a pot.
Put a larger bowl over top of the boiling water.
Add in chocolate chips.
Wait until fully melted.
Step 4:
While you are waiting for the chocolate to melt, crush up your butterfingers and sprinkle them over the rice krispies in the pan.
Step 5:
When your chocolate is melted pour it over top of the rice krispies. I put a full layer over mine but I recommend drizzling it on top instead.
Freeze it for about 30 mins, cut up, and serve!
Yum!
Rice Krispie Treats have always been great and Butterfingers are a favorite so this one has to be a winner! 🙂
Oh now this is just mean… lol
but they are soooo yummy!
