16th Century Doppelganger

For those of you who don’t read the news, I’ll tell you what you missed today 🙂

On Nov. 11, 2012 Max Galuppo and his girlfriend, Nikkie Curtis, were enjoying a day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. While passing the painting Portrait of a Nobleman with Dueling Gauntlet (unknown artist) Nikkie said “Do you see this painting right now? It looks just like you.”.

And it definitely does. After seeing the image of himself next to the painting Galuppo decided to research it. Unfortunately, there is very little information to be found. He did, however, discover that the painting was made in Emilia, Italy (possibly) which is where his grandparents are from.

How many people can say that they found their doppelganger in a 16th century painting? Or at all for that matter…
