I’ve never tried to make my own lotion before today, but I would say the experience went well. Although, this is a semi-homemade lotion I still plan on making my own from scratch someday; I just have to do a bit more research. It seems like some people like using coconut oil with baby lotion and vitamin E lotion but I wanted this to be more fragrant. None of the vitamin E lotion that I found was scented and I didn’t want to mess with essential oils just yet. So, I substituted coco butter. I thought about using almond oil but I’ve never used that before and didn’t want to risk the experiment just yet. I know that all three of these are very hydrating, which is what I was going for. I like that this lotion isn’t heavy or greasy so it doesn’t leave a film on my skin. It seems to be working well so far and smells pretty good 🙂
Things You Will Need:
A bowl
Bottle or jar
Baby lotion
Shea butter
Coconut oil
Measure 8oz. of baby lotion into your bowl.
Followed by 8oz. Shea butter.
And finally, 4oz. coconut oil. It looks like some people use melted coconut oil but I would rather just smash it up with my spoon. Seems to work pretty well.
Mix the ingredients thoroughly.
Bottle it up! Put the excess in a tightly sealed bottle or jar and store for later.
Semi-homemade lotion! It smells pretty good and is very hydrating. Let me know if you try it and if you like it 🙂
Happy Monday!
How cool is that!!
Your blog is on my Blogs I Read page http://kattermonran.com/blogs-i-read/blogs-m-p/
Thank you! I appreciate both the comment and the addition to the blogs you read. You have quite a list there 🙂
I removed a lot 😆
Haha, wow! At least we can say you are well-read 🙂
hehe Yes. I removed any that hadn’t posted this year. It was just filling up space and I would go visit them sometimes and it find they had only posted once last year as well. I suppose some people just don’t have time to do it
This is true. Some great blogs go unused due to lack of time and it makes me sad but I understand that people are busy and priorities are important. Most people use it as a hobby anyway.
It is a shame. I am one of the few people who, due to pain levels, has more time to do it, but even I don’t have time sometimes.
I do prefer it when people say that they can’t do it for it a while. I don’t know if you have followed Dotty Headbanger? She went from daily to non-existent and I worry about her as she has never been mentally stable.
I don’t think I’ve followed her. Doesn’t sound familiar. Hopefully she is okay.
