DIY Autumn-Inspired Mason Jar Vase

autumn-inspired mason jar vase

Since it is Autumn and the leaves are finally changing, I thought I would work on some fall-inspired crafts. For the first one, I decided to replace my fall/spring-inspired vases from last year with these lovely mason jars. I wanted something decorative for fall, but didn’t want to go the Halloween route. Just something subtle. Creamy brown colors, burlap and mason jars seems like the way to go.

DIY Glitter Flats

DIY Glitter Flats

This weekend, one of my best friends is getting married. My other best friend (who is also a maid of honor) is taller and wanted to wear flats, but couldn’t find silver or nude. As a last ditch effort to get shoes for the wedding, we planned on making them. Well, she found shoes and got my hopes up, so I made my own silver shoes!

They were really easy to make and only took about an hour (not including drying time). Read the whole post

DIY Doodle Baseball Cap

DIY Doodle Ball Cap

Instead of doodling in my sketchbook today, I decided to draw on a pink ball cap I had. I thought maybe I would actually wear it if I spiced it up a bit. This craft is really easy to make, but it’s time consuming.

I like the results, but I kind of wish I would’ve done the entire design in black or just one dark color. I guess I’ll have to make another doodle hat now… Darn 😉

A few tips:

Make Your Own Wallet From A Paper Bag, No Joke

Who needs Dockers and Fossil when you can make your own wallet? It sounds ridiculous, I know, but it works.

Taiwanese designer, Mr Zhou’s wallet fell apart and instead of buying a new one, he decided to make his own. He happened to have a Starbuck’s bag on hand, so he improvised.

With an exact knife, ruler, the paper bag and some double-sided tape, he created a fully functional wallet with a pocket for cash as well as slots for credit cards. Read the whole post

DIY Dandelion Silhouette Painting

DIY dandelion silhouette painting

I’ve been seeing dandelion art all over the place, particularly on Pinterest, and I’ve been inspired by it. So I decided to make my own version. But I wanted something a bit brighter and with more than a solid background. So I decided to paint dandelions as a silhouette on top of a sunset background. You can use whatever colors you’d like for yours though. I like the variety in color.

Don’t be discourage if you’ve never painted before. Read the whole post

DIY Glitter Design Candle Jar

DIY Glitter Candle Jar

Those of you who read my blog regularly (or even semi-regularly) know that I love glitter. I also like making candles. I actually just bought 10 lbs. of soy wax to make candles for the holidays and this glitter mess right here is my first victim.

It was really easy to make. The design only takes a few minutes (outside of drying time). If you want to make your own candle, you can go through this tutorial first. Read the whole post

DIY Vanilla Latte Sugar Scrub

DIY Vanilla latte sugar scrubI love coffee. I don’t love it specifically for the caffeine either. I actually enjoy the smell and taste of it. I was planning to make sugar scrub this week since I haven’t made any in a while and decided to make a coffee-scented scrub. It smells wonderful and would make a great gift for the coffee lover in your life. Especially if they’re always on the move and could use some extra pampering.

If you plan to give the DIY vanilla latte sugar scrub as a gift, I wanted to make sure you could go the whole nine yards, soooooo I made you some cute labels for your jar. Read the whole post

DIY Wine Glass Charms

DIY charms for wine glasses

A year or so ago, a friend bought me some wine glass charms. My first thought was I bet I could make that. So, this week, I dug them out of the kitchen drawer and took a good look at them. Yep. I can do that.

It was actually pretty simple. You can choose to use tools or not, but they make the process a bit easier. Your call. You can get the charms and wire at any craft store. Read the whole post

DIY Gift Bag from Scrapbook Paper

DIY Paper gift bags

So many friends and family members are getting married or having birthdays and I keep trying to think of new ways to decorate their gift bags and boxes. Of course, it’s easier to go to the store and buy a gift bag, but I’d rather make one myself. I gave a gift recently that was tall and skinny and was trying to think if the best way to present it. I decided to make my own bag out of scrapbook paper. Read the whole post
