I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and got to spend time with the people you care about the most! What did you do? Anything fun?
I need to apologize for my absence. I’ve had a very busy holiday. First, my boyfriend and I did a lot of traveling, as we usually do around the holidays. Then, this past Wednesday, I got married. All of this has kept me very occupied. As you can imagine, the blog took a back seat the past two weeks.
Okay, so now that I’m back, I was working on some teacup candles. I’m so excited about them and couldn’t wait to share the tutorial. If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably seen a few candle crafts. But I really enjoy the teacups because it gives the candles so much more character!
Candle making supplies
- pot
- wax
- tin can
- tea cup
- candle wicks
- hot glue gun
- knives or chopsticks
- candle oil (optional)
You can find your teacups at many hobby shops, consignment shops or online.
Step 1: melt the candle wax
Pour some wax into the tin can.
Fill the pot about a quarter of the way full with water.
Put the tin into the water and turn the burner on to a medium setting. The water can boil.
Step 2: glue the wick into the teacup
Using the hot glue gun, adhere the wick to the bottom of the teacup.
Step 3: set up the teacups
Use the knives or chopsticks to hold the wicks upright.
Step 4: add your fragrance
When your wax has fully melted, pull the tin out with tongs or a hot pad and place it on a hot pad.
Let the wax cool for a minute or two.
Then, pour in the fragrance of your choice and stir.
Step 5: pour the wax into the teacup
Carefully and slowly pour the wax into the teacup.
Now, all you have to do is wait for it to harden.
When you’re finished, you should have a teacup candle that looks something like this! Chop your wick and burn when ready.

Thank you! Love you too 💗
What kind of wax do you use? You probably have to go with soy if you ever want to re-use those teacups, right? These are really cute, by the way!
I use spy wax but you could use beeswax too if you wanted to reuse the cups. Thank you! I’m glad you like it. It’s such an easy craft and definitely one you could do with friends.
Sorry, that’s soy wax!
Oh wow! Can’t wait to try this. Thanks x
I’d love to hear how it goes! Send me a pic if you think about it.
