Holiday Card Ornament

I hate throwing away Christmas Cards. Every year I receive these Beautiful Christmas/Holiday cards and every year I have to throw them away. Well, this year, I am keeping all of them because I found a way to reuse them.

I am going to make a holiday card ornament that I can hang on my tree with all of my lights and tinsel.

Things you will need:

Pencil

scissors

Ribbon or wire

Christmas Cards

Hole puncher (or a small candle/votive holder 1-2 inches in diameter)

glue (hot melt or craft glue stick)

Step 1: Gather up all of your lovely holiday cards.

Step 2: Use your hole puncher to cut out circles from the front of your holiday cards. If you do not have a hole puncher use a small votive holder and trace around the bottom as I did here. Cut them out when you are finish.

Step 3: Draw a triangle (equal sides) in the middle of each circle.

Step 4: Make sure the solid part of your circles are facing downward and fold the edges of the circles upward. Make sure you crease them on the lines.

Step 5: Add some glue onto one of the flaps and adhere another flap from another circle to it. When you have about 4 of the attached in a half circle grab your ribbon.

Step 6: Cut off a small portion of your ribbon, fold it in half and tie a knot at the bottom.

Step 7: Push the ribbon up through the top and pull half of it through. Add some glue to the bottom of your ribbon near the knot and pull until the knot is pressed agains the hole.

Repeat step 5 until you have a completed ornament.

Taaa Daaaa A holiday ornament! Or several holiday ornaments! Hope you enjoyed the process as much as I did.  🙂
