I love glitter. No surprise, I know. You’ve seen my tutorials.
So, it was time to start glittering (yes, it’s a word… my word) up some mugs. This was my test piece and I enjoy it so much that I plan to make many more. You can pick up a mug at the Dollar Store for, yes, $1 and the glitter paint at a craft store for about $4. You might be able to find some at Walmart, too, but don’t quote me.
It’s really easy to make, is super cheap and can make a great gift.
Things You Will Need:
Scissors
Newspaper
Ceramic mug
Sponge brush
Masking tape (Duct Tape)
Ceramic-safe glitter paint
Step 1
Tape off the area you want to glitterize (again, my word).
Then, start painting. I put about 3 layers of paint on my mug, letting it dry for about 10 mins between layers.
When the paint dries, you’ll have a beautiful glitter mug!
Oh, important tidbit: take the tape off when the paint is still wet so it doesn’t pull. If it’s already dry, pull very slooooooowly.
Make sure you follow the directions on the paint you chose. Mine says to let the paint air dry for 21 days. I know, that’s a long time. But afterwards it will be dishwasher safe, and I’m really excited about that. So, if you do plan to make this as a gift, make sure you give it enough time to dry out.
Hope you enjoyed this one! Happy crafting 😀
Love, love, love this!
Thank you! Its so easy to make! You should definitely try it.
