DIY Scrapbook Paper Gift Box

diy scrapbook paper gift box
Scrapbook paper has become a love of mine in the past few years. It’s so versatile when it comes to crafting. I’m sure you’ve seen a few examples on the many craft blogs out there. Decoupage, origami, decorations… You name it. You can even make gift boxes with it, which is what I’m going to show you how to do today.

It’s really easy and only take about 15 mins. It’s great for holding little trinkets, candy, notes or whatever small objects you might want to gift. Read the whole post

It doesn’t have to beer caps though. It can be any bottle cap. I’m sure you drink soda, flavored water or specialty beverages that come in glass bottles, right? You can save those and make your own! It’s really easy. Read the whole post

DIY Upcycled Travel-Sized Pencil Case

DIY duck tape pencil case

Upcycling is a wonderful thing! It prevents your old stuff from getting thrown away and it gives me more craft projects to work on. Everybody wins.

As you can see from the title, this pencil case is upcycled. A week or so ago I bought a new makeup brush and it came in that plastic holder. I figured I’d be able to use it for something, so I kept it. Turns out, it makes a pretty sweet travel case for my drawing pens and pencils. Read the whole post

DIY Decor: Bathroom Storage Jars

DIY Bathroom Storage Jars

I’ve needed some storage jars in my bathroom for quite some time, but my bathroom is small so there’s not much space for bulky storage bags and boxes.

Mason Jars to the rescue! Actually, I upcycled a few old jam and pickle jars because they’re the perfect size for small bathroom needs like q-tips, cotton balls, makeup remover pads, and makeup brushes, and hair ties.

Not only are these storage jars functional, they’re cute, so they make great decor also. Read the whole post

DIY Upcycled Grocery Bag Storage Container

DIY upcycled grocery bag storage container

Like many Americans, I drink too much coffee. I used to buy it all from Trader Joe’s so I had a lot of cardboard containers left over. I try to avoid throwing them away so I upcycle them. Grocery bag storage seemed like a great way to recycle.

This was my grocery bag situation:

I know, it’s rough. I’m ashamed of myself. That junk needed concealed somehow.

DIY Scrapbook Paper Envelope

DIY scrapbook paper envelop

Envelopes are so boring aren’t they? White and lifeless.

Sometimes you just want a fun one. Maybe to go with a wedding or birthday gift. Or maybe just for fun. I’m certainly not going to waste them on bills. (Does anyone even send their bills by snail mail anymore?) Sometimes I want to send a card with an envelope that’s just as exciting.

My boyfriend and I were at a wedding out of state this weekend and I wanted a pretty envelope to go with the card. Read the whole post

DIY Rope Vanity Organizer from Oatmeal Container

DIY roped dresser organizer

We eat a good bit of oatmeal in my house and I try to reuse the containers whenever possible. If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed that I write tutorials for upcycled crafts a good bit. This is going to be one of them.

Oatmeal containers are perfect for open-top storage, like these roped organizers. They’re short enough that many items can be stored inside and you have easy access. Read the whole post

Do you ever lose your keys?

I do at least twice/wk. And it’s the only thing, most of the time.

I needed something to make my keys stand out more. Maybe a lanyard? Yeah that sounded good. Do stores even sell those anymore? I wasn’t about to shop for a lanyard I probably wouldn’t like. You guessed it… I made my own. Read the whole post

DIY Tiered Tray

diy tiered fruit tray
It’s always nice to work on a functional craft. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy crafting home decor pieces, but there’s a sense of real accomplishment when you put a project together that you will use day in and day out.

This is one of those crafts: the tiered tray. I’ve considered making one before, but didn’t know what I would use it for. I’m not a baker, so it wasn’t going to be used it for cupcakes or anything like that, which seems to be the most popular choice of food for these. Read the whole post
