DIY Customized Coffee Jar

DIY-customized-coffee-jar

You probably know a lot of people who like coffee, right? I sure do. So, for Christmas this year I am gifting some coffee in a cute customized jar that I just finished making. It makes a nice gift for anyone, not just the coffee snobs. You could do this with tea also!

As with many of my crafts, this one is quick and easy. If you have less than a day to get a gift together, this might be your life saver. Read the whole post

DIY Light Up Christmas Tree

DIY light up Christmas tree

I never put up a Christmas tree.

Yes, I grew up in a Christian family, and yes, we celebrated Christmas.

However, when I moved out on my own I never saw a need for a tree. Call me a pessimist if you’d like (it’s okay, most people do), but I never had an interest in buying a tree (real or fake), setting it up, decorating it, and a month later taking down the decorations, disassembling the tree and storing it away for another year. DIY Chalkboard Holiday Sign

DIY Chalkboard Holiday Sign

It’s that time of year again. I’m sure you’ve already heard the Christmas music and everyone in your neighborhood has probably decked out their homes with lights and decorations by now. If you can’t tell, I’m just getting around to the little bit of holiday decorating I do every year.

This adorable chalkboard sign is just the beginning. I like to DIY my holiday decorations, if you hadn’t already guessed. Typically, I make my decorations and then give them away because I don’t want to store them away for a year. Read the whole post

Christmas Craft Challenge: DIY stocking Stuffer Gift Bags

The Craft Challenge

This post is part of The Craft Challenge. You can read more about it here.

DIY Christmas Stocking Stuffer Gift Bags

This month the theme for the craft challenge is Thanksgiving/Christmas crafts. For this theme I chose to make Christmas stocking stuffer gift bags. You know, for the little things that suck to wrap, like chapstick, money, food, hand sanitizer, etc. That sort of stuff would be perfect to wrap up in a cute little gift bag like this.

You will only need a few materials and probably won’t spend more than half an hour on these (unless you have a ton of people to gift to). Read the whole post

DIY Watercolor Gift Tags

DIY Watercolor Gift Tags

I don’t know about you, but I always buy gift tags around the holidays for presents. I thought about it the other day, though, and decided that I don’t need to spend money on gift tags because I have everything to make them myself.

That’s usually how this stuff starts, right? You see something and think I bet I could make that.

So, if you want to make your own you can follow along with my tutorial below. Read the whole post

DIY Glitter Clothespin Magnets

DIY glitter clothespin magnets

If you follow me regularly, you know that I have a small obsession with glitter. It’s one of my favorite craft supplies but I try to talk myself out of using it on everything because I’m aware that many people don’t share my problem. This week, though, I was looking forward to making these glitter magnets. They’re a fun way to spice up your fridge. They’re functional, too, which makes them twice as wonderful.

They take about 15-20 minutes to make and cost $5. Read the whole post

DIY Vintage Necklace

DIY vintage necklace

I’m a really big fan of vintage jewelry. Most of the time I admit I would never wear it, but I really like the way it looks. The other day, I was at Michael’s (of course, it’s like my second home), and found these really cute key charms. They’re not really vintage keys, obviously, but they’re close enough in appearance. I wanted to make something with them, but the craft I planned on making this week didn’t work out like I’d hoped. Read the whole post

DIY Upcycled Artist Organizer

DIY upcycled artist travel case

I don’t know about you, but I try to recycle or upcycle as much as possible. I keep 6-pack carriers, pasta jars and disposable tupperware because I know I can use them for other things, like storage.

A few months ago I made a travel case for my sketchbook, and I love it, but I can’t carry a ton of pens in it. Sometimes, I like to work on colorful drawings that require a variety of pens or pencils, so I decided to make an organizer from an old 6-pack carrier. Read the whole post

DIY Halloween spell book
