DIY Decorative Photo Frame

Do you ever get tired of doing everything digitally? Sometimes I just want to read a physical book and print real photographs.

There’s something about holding pictures in your hand and smelling the pages of book. It’s a feeling and an appreciation you can’t get from a device. This week, I was in one of those moods.

For my birthday, a few months ago, a friend bought me a subscription to Groovebook, which is a photo subscription service. Read the whole post

DIY Scented Hand Warmers

DIY scented hand warmers filled with rice

It’s been a downright unpleasant week with single digits and negative wind chills.

In case you didn’t know, I HATE being cold. On any given day in the winter months, I’m wearing at least 3 layers of clothing.

To stay warm, I decided to make hand warmers. They’re filled with rice, so you can heat them up as you please.

I throw them in the microwave for 30 secs while I’m pouring my coffee into my thermos before work, then put them in my coat pockets or tuck them in my gloves. Read the whole post

DIY Lemon Grapefruit Sugar Scrub

First, I’d like to apologize for my absence last week. I got sick and missed all kinds of good stuff like my work holiday party and the 60 degree weather. For once, crafting was not on my priority list. It was not a good weekend. But this weekend is a better one.

Valentine’s Day is coming up… That means you want to look and feel your best, right? Of course. Forget V-Day though, I want smooth skin all the time. Read the whole post

DIY Valentine's Day Mason Jar Gift

Ohhh, Valentine’s Day…

A holiday that’s either loved or hated depending on the person’s relationship status.

I’ve never been wild about the holiday, but I do enjoy chocolate and hearts, so I’ll make it work. Of course, with that in mind, my Valentine’s Day themed craft involves candy. Read the whole post

DIY Photo Magnets

DIY photo magnets

I’ve noticed a trend in the last year or so. People love personalized gifts; everything from monogramed purses to homemade birthday cards are popping up all over the place. But, many people don’t feel comfortable making gifts for someone else.

To fix that problem, I’ve decided to make a tutorial for a great, personalized gift that anyone can make: photo magnets!

I chose to personalize my photo magnets with photos I took of bridges from my hometown, but you can use whatever imagery you prefer. Read the whole post

Valentines Day Gifts For Him 2016

Every year I post a list of Valentine’s Day gifts for the men, and it’s about that time of year again. Have you started thinking about it yet? It’s okay if you haven’t. I have a list of good buys and DIYs for your man.

My lists rarely consist of the typical, cliche gifts. I try find unique gifts throughout the year, mostly from Etsy or something you can make yourself, and make note of them. Read the whole post

DIY Watercolor Bookmarks

I know that e-readers are popular. I love my Kindle. But there is something about opening a real book and flipping the pages while getting a whiff of each one.

E-readers are great but, for me, nothing will ever replace the experience of a physical book. That’s why I am always reading a few books at a time, one on my Kindle and one with real pages.

Recently though, I misplaced my bookmark so I had to find a replacement. Read the whole post

DIY Upcycled Storage Box

cardboard box paint storage

This week, I got out my acrylic paints and the plastic bucket I keep them in broke right down the side. Paint tubes spilled out all over the floor. That was my inspiration for this week’s Make Something Monday’s craft project.  There’s a little bit of good in every situation, right?

Since I try to work on a lot of upcycled crafts, I had kept some cardboard shipping boxes from Christmas to reuse. I found one that would hold all of my paint and decided to turn it into a storage box. Read the whole post

Thank You for A Great 2015

Can you believe I’ve been writing this blog for about 4 years? Me neither

that means I’ve posted a craft tutorial every Monday, with few exceptions (Christmas or being sick), for 4 years.

I started this blog as a way to keep my creativity flowing, but it has become soooo much more than it was intended to be. I’ve met some amazing people who are really talented who have heart-warming stories, I’ve been offered 2 jobs (partially because of this blog) and I’ve been able to enhance my artistic abilities. Happy Holidays Coloring Page

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday with family and/or friends.

I took a crafting break today so there won’t be a Make Something Mondays project. Spending time with family took precedent.

But I did want to post something today. I’m sure you’re still in the holiday spirit, so here’s a Christmas tree coloring page! Holidays can be really stressful, especially for the people who host parties, so I wanted to give you a creative way to relax. Read the whole post
