You know those cute floral wreaths that people hang on their front doors? They are so cute! I wanted to make my own version, but didn’t want to buy the wreath forms you get at the hobby shops.

I decided that using embroidery hoops was the best option. It works quite well and I saved a lot of money going that route. These are super cheap, like $2-$5 at Michaels or Amazon vs the wreath forms which can be $20-$30.

Then, all you have to do is choose your flowers and you’re ready to make some front door decor! Swap the flowers out to keep it festive.

Floral Embroidery Hoop Wreaths Supplies

Scissors

Jewelry rope

Artificial flowers and fillers (purple and white)

Hot glue and gun

Embroidery hoops (4.7 Inches and 10.6 Inches)

You can buy individual embroidery hoops or a set. If you choose the set, you can make multiple wreaths!

Step 1: remove the inner embroidery hoop

Slide the inner piece out of the embroidery hoop with your fingers.

This shouldn’t take much effort. You can twist the metal screw to loosen these if needed.

Do this with both the small and large hoops.

Step 2: create the loop to hang your wreath

First, position your small hoop inside your large hoop and place the tops together.

Second, wrap the jewelry rope around them several times to hold them in place, leaving a short amount of rope at the beginning.

Last, create a loop to hang your wreath. Try to keep the knot in the back so it’s out of sight.

You can add a drop of hot glue to the knot to make sure it doesn’t come undone.

Step 3: arrange your flowers

Decide how you want to arrange your flowers on the hoops. I always start with your accent pieces, or fillers first, then add in the bigger petals.

Starting in the bottom middle of your large hoop, start gluing your flowers into place. Work from the inside out gluing different colored flowers in place.

When you’re finished, flip your wreath over and add some glue to the back of the flowers and the hoop to keep everything secured.

Repeat these steps for the small hoop.

When you’re done, you should have something that looks like this. I love the combination of purple and white on this wreath. It’s going to look lovely in my newly painted green office.
