This is one of the coolest installations I’ve seen in a very long time. Very simple yet inventive!
artist Yayoi Kusama constructed a large domestic environment for the Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, painting every wall, chair, table, piano, and household decoration a brilliant white, effectively serving as a giant white canvas. Over the course of two weeks, the museum’s smallest visitors were given thousands upon thousands of colored dot stickers and were invited to collaborate in the transformation of the space, turning the house into a vibrantly mottled explosion of color. How great is this? Given the opportunity my son could probably cover the entire piano alone in about fifteen minutes. The installation, entitled The Obliteration Room, is part of Kusama’s Look Now, See Forever exhibition that runs through March 12.

wow amazing, looks very busy towars then end, the developing images remind me of a rash spreading….not sure if thats good? but its a great thing to get kids involved with!
I thought that too (the rash spreading) but I really like the idea of kids getting involved. It adds a whole new element to the enjoyment.
It is great to get kids involved in something like this. Its amazing what they can do when given something as simple as a sticker.
Agreed! I think people underestimate children. They are a bevy of creative thoughts and intuitions that we have long forgotten about.
That is completely awesome !! And yes, I do agree, we kids have a lot of interesting creative ideas !!! This is a great post. Love your blog 🙂
