196 Days, 196 Countries Continued…

You guys remember Javier? He started a journey across the US (from Virginia Beach to California) to promote love, tolerance, and awareness of his fellow men and women. In order to show this, he is going to take 196 days to walk across America. Why 196 days? Because there are 196 countries in the world and he is going to wear a shirt displaying a flag from one of those countries each day.

He is doing very well. He just got back from a small break. He surprised his parents and came home for the holidays 🙂 how sweet! Now he is back at it! He is walking about 15-20 per day, depending on weather conditions.

Yesterday he said “162 days to go, and as I restart this I would like to say again: Let us focus on the good in the world, continue to embrace universal love, and not accept the fear and negativity too disproportionately portrayed in today’s world”. He seems like such a positive person and I respect that. It is hard to see the good in the world sometimes. In a sense, watching Javier do this has helped me grow as well. It has made me look for the good rather than noticing the bad. I suppose his goal is working :-D. Thanks Javier!

If you are interested, I highly recommend checking out his WordPress blog. His posts are informative and interesting. Surprisingly, he often sets up camp at fire halls because they are most likely to let him stay. I would’ve never guess that, but I’m glad it is working out for him.

As always, Javier, I wish you the best! I will keep looking for your journey to go public!
