DIY Hot Glue Gun Holder

DIY glue gun holder

I’ve been crafting for about 5 years now, and it’s about time that I make some sort of holder for my hot glue gun. It’s fair to say that I use my glue gun in about 40% of my craft projects. In 100% of those, my glue gun falls over and drops glue on my table.

I used my sketchbook to design a holder, then went to Pat Catan’s to pick up supplies. It only took about 15 minutes to put everything together, excluding drying time for the super glue. Read the whole post

DIY Mug Cozy From a Dollar Store Sock

DIY Cup Cozy from a Dollar Store Sock

You know those super cute mug cozies you see on Pinterest? The ones that people knit and crochet? I really love the way they look, but I’m not a huge fan of that creative process. Maybe it’s just because I don’t do it enough, but it kills my fingers.

Anyway, I wanted a mug cozy, but was trying to think of a better way to get one. Of course, my solution is usually to make it myself. Read the whole post

Valentine’s Day Gifts for Him 2017

Just about every year I make a lists of gifts to get the man in your life for Valentine’s Day. Why not one for her too? Sometimes I do, but I usually stick to the boyfriend gifts because it’s harder to buy for him. (AND we don’t appreciate men very much during this holiday. We should work on that.) Guys don’t give you hints and they don’t care where you go to eat as long as there isn’t a crazy wait. Read the whole post

DIY Lemon Zest Soap

DIY lemon zest soap

I’ve been experimenting with soap making for a while, but haven’t found many I like. This lemon zest recipe is one of the few. It smells wonderful and works well. I think I’ll experiment with some other bases for this one, too.

If you would like to make your own, follow the steps below! The whole process takes about an hour and the majority of that time is letting the soap harden. The actual creation part takes no more than 10 minutes. Read the whole post

DIY Farmhouse Style Tissue Box

DIY farmhouse tissue box

I never really thought about my tissue boxes, until recently. When grocery shopping, I typically just grab a pack of them and check out. But this week, I noticed there were a few more options of more appealing boxes. Why?

Unless the design on the tissue box is neutral or very simple, it will never match the room they’re placed in. Everyone has a different style and it’s reflected in their home. So, tissue boxes are now becoming more than boxes, they’re becoming home decor. Read the whole post

DIY Teacup Candles

DIY Teacup Candles

I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and got to spend time with the people you care about the most! What did you do? Anything fun?

I need to apologize for my absence. I’ve had a very busy holiday. First, my boyfriend and I did a lot of traveling, as we usually do around the holidays. Then, this past Wednesday, I got married. All of this has kept me very occupied. As you can imagine, the blog took a back seat the past two weeks. Read the whole post

DIY Magnetic Bookmarks

DIY magnetic bookmarks

Do you like reading? Like, physical books. Not just ebooks. Me too. I also keep a planner to help with organization. That’s why I love the idea of these magnetic bookmarks. Especially since they’re easy DIYs.

Regular, rectangular bookmarks are great, but sometimes they fall out, or it’s difficult to find them in the pages. The magnetic bookmarks are easy to find because they wrap around the top or side of the pages. They won’t fall out either since the magnets hold them in place. Read the whole post

DIY Christmas Ornament Door Decor

diy framed christmas ornament decor

This month’s theme for The Craft Challenge is Christmas. I’ve had this one planned for a month or so and was excited to get started on it. Shadow boxes are so neat, but I never could think of something to put in them. So, why not Christmas ornaments?
