DIY Lemon Peppermint Room Spray

I’m sure there are weird smells in your home. I bought a house with ancient carpet that needs to be replaced ASAP, so I feel your pain. I feel like I’m constantly cleaning, even though it’s not dirty. It’s completely irrational. So, one day, I tried room spray.  🙌 🙌 🙌

That changed everything! Ever since then I’ve been on a kick of trying different kinds. Many of you know that I’m not a fan of commercial cleaners and such, so obviously I would try to find a way to make my own. Read the whole post

DIY Apple Pie Soap

diy apple pie soap

I love the smell of apple. Real apples, apple cinnamon candles, apple crisp… whatever. It’s the perfect scent year-round.

Although, fall is the time for pumpkin spice and such, I’ve never been much of a fan. It’s an overwhelming smell.

Anway, I was experimenting with homemade soap this weekend. I’ve made a few of these in the past but wasn’t in love with any of them. Buuuuuuuut, I found a smell I really like that, for some reason, I was surprised about, apple pie! Read the whole post

DIY Halloween Luminary

DIY halloween luminary

If you’ve followed my blog for any length of time, you know that I love candles. It’s actually surprising to me how many candle related crafts I’ve made, from the actual candle to holders, and now luminaries.

Fall and Halloween are known for their candle crafts. There’s something… I don’t know, mysterious, or maybe eerie, about candles during this season, so luminaries are the perfect addition to your decor.

This one is incredibly easy to make and you’ll be so happy with the result. Read the whole post

DIY Lemon Lavender Yoga Mat Cleaner

yoga mat spray with lemon and lavender

Have you ever thought about the germs on your yoga mat? I think about it too much.

For the most part, mine stays in my house with the exception of my patio and a yoga studio now and then. But your mat can absorb a lot of grossness from all of these places, not to mention your sweaty body rolling all over it.

Answer this question honestly: how often do you clean your yoga mat?

If you sighed when you read that, let me give you some motivation. Read the whole post

DIY Fall Tin Can Lantern

Fall tin can lantern

Do you know what’s strange? I don’t love decorations. I’ve always taken a realistic/pragmatic approach to holidays and I can’t find a reason to buy festive decorations just to keep them in a closet for the majority of the year. BUT I do love crafting and upcycling. If I can do them both at the same time, then I’m all over it.

The plus side is that if I make something festive, friends know that it’s out of character for me. Read the whole post

DIY Planter from Upcycled Tin Cans

diy planter from upcycled tin cans

I have been sick for about a week now, which means I’ve been eating a lot of store-bought soup. Which also means I have a lot of tin cans.

Since I’m getting to the end of my sickness, I don’t have a lot of energy but still wanted to make a craft to lift my spirits. Creating something always makes me happy 🙂

What better to craft with than my new stockpile of cans, right? I like upcycling, why not? Read the whole post

DIY Decorated Clothespins

decorative clothespins

The world has gotten digital (obviously) and because of that, people have stopped writing notes, letters, etc. It’s all online now. But there’s a group of people that still prefer handwritten notes, including myself.

I like to leave Post-Its on a bulletin board in case my phone fails to update me, and why not use something pretty to hold that Post-It note? Like a decorative clothespin, maybe?

I think yes. There are so many ways to decorate clothespins that it’s hard to choose a method, but I’m really loving the Washi Tape look. Read the whole post

DIY Paper Gift Card Envelope

diy gift card envelope

Did you know that consumers prefer physical gift cards? I always thought that was strange for our instant gratification digital age. According to the National Gift Card Annual B2B Gift Card Report, of the volume in gift card program redemptions is still in physical cards versus 25% for egift cards.

So, when you’re looking for a gift idea, remember that gift cards are always an option. What I like about gifting them is that I can customize the envelope however I want. Read the whole post

DIY Essential Oils Air Freshener

diy water bead air freshener

I’ve been on the hunt for a good air freshener for a while now. When my husband and I bought our house, it smelled a little… mothy. Not very fresh.

I cleaned from top to bottom, including curtains and carpets to no avail. There’s no hope but to replace it all. Of course, that’s expensive and I’m cheap. So, until we save up enough to replace all the carpets with anything but carpet, we’ll have to settle for an alternative. Read the whole post

DIY Kitchen Labels for Better Organization

diy organizational kitchen labels

I’m on a mission to remove as many single-use plastics from my house as possible.

I save most of my jars and use them for storage, but the problem is that I’m not always sure what’s in them. This is especially true when it comes to baking products. At first glance, sugar and flower look pretty similar. Then there’s powdered sugar and flour. Ugh. No thanks.

I needed a better organizational system because I wasn’t a fan of opening and smelling jars every time I needed to bake something. Read the whole post
