The Best Valentine’s Day Cards on Etsy

I read some stats today claiming that an estimated $13.9 billion will be spent on Valentine’s Day this year and that there will be 180 Million cards exchanged.

Cards actually account for 52.1% of gifts given Valentine’s Day (stats assume that cards are given along with other gifts.)

I would’ve never guessed that.

I started looking at some cards on Etsy and found some unique ones that I want to share with you.

DIY Light Box For Better Lighting

DIY light box

Have you ever noticed that the lighting in my house blows? It’s great for relaxing, but really terrible for any kind of photography. I can get a great shot anywhere else.

It’s getting old, so I decided to make a light box to get better photos. Yes, it works, and, yes, I’m excited 🙂

Here’s my proof.

I took this picture (above) of my exacto knife before I made my light box.

DIY Valentine’s Day Button Heart Canvas

DIY Valentine's Day Button Heart Canvas

I still can’t believe 2015 has started, and now Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Ugh. Time moves too fast doesn’t it?

I was contemplating my craft for today and thought, Wow, Valentine’s Day is only a few weeks away. I should make a craft for it. And what do you think of when you think of the love-inspired holiday? Right, hearts.

I found some burlap canvas at Walmart (surprisingly) along with red and white multi-sized buttons and decided that it would make a nice craft. Read the whole post

Why Every Artist Needs A Mod Notebook

Mod Notebooks for every artist

I used to LOOOOOOVE Moleskine notebooks. The thick pages and hard cover really won me over. Not to mention the social community of artists they have. However, a few months ago I found these wondrous, perfectly-sized sketchbooks called Mod Notebooks and I think I have a new love in my life.

thick notebook pages

These notebooks also have nice thick pages and a hard cover, so what’s the difference?

Well, with Mod Notebooks, I have the ability to digitize all of my drawings. Read the whole post

My Portable Craft Space

ideal portable craft space

It might surprise you that I don’t have a craft room since I’ve been crafting and sharing tutorials on this blog for almost 3 years now. I’ve always worked on my projects at my kitchen table or on the floor (depending on the potential mess level). So, it’s about time that I start thinking about making a craft area to call my own.

Why haven’t I thought about this yet? Well, I have location commitment issues. Read the whole post
