DIY Decorative Scrapbook Paper Pins

DIY decorative scrapbook paper pins

Before I get started with this week’s Make Something Monday’s craft project, I have to tell you a story.

After I finished taking my pictures for these DIY pins, I was talking to my boyfriend and not paying any attention to what I was doing. I stuck my camera card into the CD slot in my laptop instead of the camera card slot and it disappeared. I was freaking out. How the heck am I going to get this thing out of my computer??? Why Every Artist Needs A Mod Notebook

Mod Notebooks for every artist

I used to LOOOOOOVE Moleskine notebooks. The thick pages and hard cover really won me over. Not to mention the social community of artists they have. However, a few months ago I found these wondrous, perfectly-sized sketchbooks called Mod Notebooks and I think I have a new love in my life.

These notebooks also have nice thick pages and a hard cover, so what’s the difference?

Make Your Own Wallet From A Paper Bag, No Joke

Who needs Dockers and Fossil when you can make your own wallet? It sounds ridiculous, I know, but it works.

Taiwanese designer, Mr Zhou’s wallet fell apart and instead of buying a new one, he decided to make his own. He happened to have a Starbuck’s bag on hand, so he improvised.

With an exact knife, ruler, the paper bag and some double-sided tape, he created a fully functional wallet with a pocket for cash as well as slots for credit cards. Read the whole post

DIY Gift Bag from Scrapbook Paper

DIY Paper gift bags

So many friends and family members are getting married or having birthdays and I keep trying to think of new ways to decorate their gift bags and boxes. Of course, it’s easier to go to the store and buy a gift bag, but I’d rather make one myself. I gave a gift recently that was tall and skinny and was trying to think if the best way to present it. I decided to make my own bag out of scrapbook paper. Read the whole post

DIY Decorative Flower From A Toilet Paper Roll

I was browsing the other day and found a DIY tutorial on http://recycle-craft.com I thought you guys would like. It is similar to my Cardboard Flower Wreath tutorial from a while back. Honestly, I like her method better. I will have to try using spray paint next time instead of acrylics. The effect is much nicer.

Tamika Quick started out in the corporate world of finance. After her relocation to Atlanta, GA, she decided to switch careers. hummingbird by Peter Callesen

Peter Callesen is a Danish artist known for his work with paper art. He started out studying architecture and switched to art. He enjoyed painting, video, and performance but has discovered the joy of paperwork. He prefers to work with A4 paper.

He begins his paper art by cutting out a silhouette from the A4 paper. He, then, uses the pieces to make a 3D figure. Peter focuses on the positive and negative.

DIY Cardboard Flower Wreath

DIY recycled cardboard wreath

I was excited to make a recycled cardboard wreath! My candy-cane wreath is getting old so it is time for a new one. I never really cared much for wreaths until I made that one, but now I kind of enjoy seeing something colorful on my door when I come home. I am easily amused.

So, for this craft you will need a bunch of cardboard rolls. I think I used 12? I’ve been planning to make this wreath for a few weeks now, so I have been saving. Read the whole post

A Look At My Sketchbook

I don’t do this much. No, I actually never do this. I am going to show you my sketchbooks from before I graduated from high school. Scary right? Some of these drawings are from 7th grade. I was a strange kid, so don’t judge, haha.

I learned to draw by drawing what  was in front of me. I ripped pages out of magazines with models or celebrities on them and drew them. No one really taught me how. Read the whole post
